You can regularly dust off a wooden edge, mesh base and metal frame of the box spring with a soft cloth.

Is it stained? Don't worry.  You can remove a stain in no time with a cloth moist with biological cleaner. Never use a scourer or abrasive!

Because of Auping's care for the environment, the product has been powder coated. In the first weeks after you've made your purchase, it is possible that some lacquer material will fall under the bed.  This is harmless and can be removed easily.

The bed is strong.  But... Scratches can never be fully prevented.  Luckily it is possible to make small scratches disappear almost completely with a special lacquer pen. The lacquer pens can be ordered via the Auping store.

When cleaning the box spring, try to avoid water. Do not beat out or vacuum the box spring, but clean it with a soft brush.

Provide optimal ventilation. Do not to use a mattress cover between the mattress and box spring.

Shake your duvet rapidly, this way the duvet will stay fresh and voluminous. 

Synthetic duvets are machine washable on maximum 60°C. Down duvets should be cleaned by a specialized dry cleaner's or a launderette. Always follow the washing guidelines on the label of the duvet.

You only have to clean the duvet when it's absolutely necessary.  With normal use, 4 or 5 times per year will suffice.

If the duvet is stained, you can remove them usually easily. Consult the stain guide for more information.

We recommend to wash the duvet covers and fitted sheets weekly and molletons once per month. Always follow the washing guidelines on the label of the duvet cover.

If you have an adjustable bed, you can put it a bit higher. Then you don't have to bend over while cleaning the bed.   to bend over while cleaning! 

Mattresses always become a bit moist because of perspiration during sleep. It is therefore advisable that you fold the duvet double over the foot end. The mattress and underside of the bed, which have the most contact with the body, can dry well this way. 

Check the mattress regularly for wear or damage. Contact the Auping store immediately if you find any damage.

If the mattress is stained, you can remove the stain easily. Consult our stain guide for more information When cleaning the mattress, put it on its side and use the least amount of water. Do not use bleach or other caustic substances and let the mattress dry well after cleaning. 

The mattress has a mattress cover around it. A number of Auping mattresses has a removable mattress cover.  Auping suggests you clean it annually. The 'cool' mattress cover (of knitted fabric) is machine washable, the 'warm' mattress cover (of velvet) must be cleaned chemically.

Shake the pillow daily and air it now and then (not in full sun), this way it will stay fresh and voluminous.

Synthetic pillows can be washed in the washing machine at a maximum of 60°C. 

Down pillows are machine washable but only do this when absolutely necessary.  It is important that you use detergent for wool (alkali free) so the down filling isn't damaged. Always follow the washing guidelines on the label of the pillow.

Mix a teaspoon of fine detergent and a teaspoon of vinegar with 1/2 litre of lukewarm water (with tea you can also add a teaspoon of lemon juice). Soak a cloth in the mixture and dab the stain away.

Dab the stain for some time with cold water.

Treat the stain for an extended time with warm water or sprinkle salt on the stain and let it work in for some time. Remove afterwards with warm water.

Dab the stain away with biological liquid detergent.

Dab the stain away with cotton wool, drenched in pure alcohol or methylated spirit.

First carefully scrape the liquorice from the textile.  Then dab the stain away with a cloth soaked in water and ammonia. If necessary, treat the stain with water and a clean cloth.

Put salt on the stain and let it work in for some time.  Remove the stain with lukewarm water or mix a teaspoon of fine detergent and a teaspoon of vinegar with 1/2 litre of lukewarm water. Soak a cloth in the mixture and dab the stain away.

Dab as much liquid away as possible. Then treat the stain with cold water.  After this, clean with a biological liquid detergent.
